Cousins' Weekend 2011

Each year several of my female cousin's gather one place or another to share stories, food, beverages, and foolishness. As "Sadie's Ladies", we have visited several casinos, Minnesota resorts, Phoenix, Duluth, Red Wing, New Ulm and even went on a cruise last year. This year, we camped on an island in German Lake. Camp Fa Ho Cha provided a relaxing and fun 3-day weekend.

Getting to the island made "cart pushers" out of all of us.

I chose one of the "huts" with an Army cot for a bed... surprisingly comfortable... maybe the cocktails help...

Friday morning, mother and daughter, Kathy and Elaine, got up at the crack of 9 to make breakfast. It was amazing the amount of stuff we hauled over!

The weather was beautiful and outside games proved entertaining. That is Cheryl and Kathy posing with their balls when they were named "the biggest Losers".

(That's an "L" that Kathy is making in case it looks funny.)
Pam and Becky went out on the lake to relax and catch some sun.

Elaine and Carol couldn't seem to make it away from the dock...

Marbles were played and played and played again during the weekend

And then it was time to pick up our late arrival, Julie.

Her cart was loaded and our 2011 group of 9 was fully assembled.

The next day, after Becky gave the kitchen a thorough cleaning,

Julie gave us all a lesson in making egg rolls. She is a natural in the kitchen and a very good teacher!

Before long, we were all rolling.

Elaine and I seemed to be really concentrating.

Dinner that night was the first completely homemade Chinese meal I have ever eaten... and it wasn't even too hard, just need the right ingredients.
(The couple in the far left are the volunteer caretakers on the island. Someone has to run the pontoon boat!)

We all shared the Saki that Julie brought to compliment the meal.
and then it was time for a little foolishness with those shopping carts!

After a quick swim, Becky poses with Cheryl... oh, did I tell you that Cheryl "Dressed" for dinner. (She actually confessed to robbing the grandkids' dress up box!) Great Look!
We posed for "formal" pictures.

And before you knew it, the pontoon was pulling out and it was time to head home.

Thanks to all those who made this weekend one of relaxation and support. I am already looking forward to next year!
