Kids At Play

Last Thursday night 20 of us older kids (and 1 younger one)gathered on the new patio to break it in.  We decided the work was worth the effort.

Bean bag toss was a hit.

Blake was a good sport; he put up with the older kids and even joined them in the toss.

 Lounging was a hit, too.

The guys watching the bean bag toss seemed pretty content... as long as they were offered a beverage now and again.

Saturday started bright and early with a quick trip to Waseca to pick up great nephew, Joe, whom we had invited to go with us to "Take a Kid Fishing". This great activity is sponsored by the LeSeuer County Sheriff's Posse and we have been hanging around for 5 years. Mike drives the pontoon owned by Joyce and Curt (he's the cook).
The rods and reels were all ready for the kids.
The Viking Rookies showed up right on time and I quickly snapped a picture with Joe and five of them.

Fishing wasn't much this year but I think all of the kids had a good time.  Of course having the Vikings there to sign autographs made it even more memorable.  Each child goes home with an autographed football, life jacket and rod and reel - not bad loot for 4 hours on a Saturday.
Here Joe listens as Mike and Sheriff Tom discuss the day's event.

While the boats were out on the water, I enjoyed the area and took pictures; almost missed this guy.
When all the young kids are through the line, the left over footballs go to the older "kids". Mike shared a few laughs with one of the Viking Rookies while he is getting his football signed.  (We later delivered that signed football to our great grandson, Aiden.)
Corky enjoyed getting her autographs, too.

On Sunday, we enjoyed a pontoon ride on Gary and Judy's boat and
on Monday we golfed with Doug and Lael
and today Mike went fishing...

Kids At Play...

isn't that what "kids" are suppose to do in the summer?
