A Few Days of Vacation
While some of you may think that our life is one continuous vacation, it isn't really and we enjoy "getting away from home" as much as anybody. So when the opportunity arose to go up north to visit Tud and Diane, we certainly were not going to pass it up. And when they invited Bonnie and Barry, well, we knew it would be a laughter filled mini vacation and it did not disappoint. It was a fine few days in the Battle Lake, Minnesota area; good fishing, great food and fabulous company!
I caught a ride with them because I was anxious to be on water - first time I have been in a boat this summer. Their home is beautiful from the inside and out.
That morning, there were plenty of fish on the finder, but not on the hooks.
Mike finally landed one - his face tells the story. Tud reassures him they are not all that small. And, sure enough, he was right.
I enjoyed the dragonfly
and the sound of the loons. (But it never posed for me.)
Later that day, the ladies enjoyed the sun
while the guys hit it again. They had much better luck when I wasn't in the boat... go figure.
Popcorn wasn't feeling well - allergies - but she is still a pretty lady to photograph.
I loved the tiger lilies against the water.
Another morning caught Bonnie watching while
the boys battled to land the first fish of the day.
Us ladies did some shopping and then enjoyed some down time while the guys landed northerns and bass and crappies and sunfish.
From early morning till the last light of day, a good time was had by all.
Thanks, Tud and Diane, for sharing your little slice of heaven with us.
First day, they guys were out early and ready to catch the big one ... well 9:00 is early, isn't it.
