Just a Tidbit or Two
This is the kind of picture that we used to always publish just for Bob... but maybe others of you appreciate it, too. (The Hotel Washington is across the street from The White House.)
The spaces are all level even though the resort is built into a rolling hillside. And hookups are just where they should be... even if you are in a drive in site. The designer definitely paid attention to detail.
The clubhouse really should have been photographed from the inside. I spent a few minutes one night just sitting on the leather sofa soaking in the home-like atmosphere - again, nicely done!
The price of gas has really fallen down here. Today we paid $3.03 and saw it later for $2.99.
Today we were on the road all day and drove through the southern tip of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There was a sign outside a Baptist Church that read, "Jesus is not just fire insurance"... took us a mile to get it...
In a small South Carolina town there was a nondescript clapboard church on "Pew Street".
And a brief commercial:
We spent 3 nights at Greenwood Motor Coach Resort near Cross Hill, South Carolina. If you own a motor coach your first visit of up to 7 days is absolutely free and it is a beautiful place in which to relax and Doug is a fine host. On Friday night we were offered wine and appetizers (he makes a mean clam dip) and on Saturday we were given a sunset cruise on Greenwood Lake. Of course the goal is to sell you a lot and it would be tempting if this were an area of the U.S. in which we wanted to spend more time.
This is a view from the 20 mile long Greenwood Lake that is really a reservoir.

Our motorhome looked quite nice sitting on one of the lots atop the hill. It was a much needed place to relax and listen to the birds sing; I miss birds singing when we are in big cities.
If you are going to be heading in the direction of South Carolina, look it up on the internet under Cane Creek Resort (or on facebook) and enjoy a few days. Thanks to FMCA for sending out the invitation - that's how we found out about it.
And now, we are in the noisiest Walmart parking lot I have ever been in but we are moving west and that is a good thing. Battery is low (mine and the computer's) so that is it for now - till later.
