The Boardwalk In Atlantic City

When we were planning The Great Trip East of 2011, we talked about going to Atlantic City to see the Boardwalk and thought that we would just stay in the parking lot of one of the casinos. About the time we saw this sign, I started thinking that maybe it was too crowded and casinos would not having parking areas for big rigs. ( I have never seen a sign like this one before.)

By the time we got to the Delaware sign I had called a couple of casinos and we were told "sorry". It was only after I enlarged this picture, that I saw they had tax free shopping... should have stopped.
So when we hit New Jersey, I had called a campground, found out they only got $20 a night and we were headed to our 2 day home in Absecon, NJ.

When we landed at the park, which was really very nice for the money, we settled in and headed for the beach.
I think this is where they put the bodies... or maybe I read too many crime novels. This is Trump's Taj Mahal.

It was a rather cool and overcast day so few people were on the beach - no beach patrol around.
The Boardwalk really is made of boards
and some of the buildings are pretty old and crusty.

The Boardwalk is famous for these three wheel carts in which people ride while others push - looked like hard work to me.

The best part was the Atlantic... but I still like the Pacific Ocean better.
