We Are On The Move

When we left the Colorado River area, we headed back to Yuma to complete some dental work. Our plan was to spend 15 - 20 days there depending ... Well, after a week of strong winds and hot temperatures, we decided to hit the road. It is at times like these that I am sure we are NOT ready to be homeowners; at least not a home with a foundation.
Anyway, we took off and headed for Tucson to spend a couple of days visiting with our friends, Bonnie and Barry. We landed at Catalina State Park and it wasn't long before high level conversations and heavy duty planning was taking place. The topic of discussion was a fall fishing trip in New Mexico "to catch those lunkers".
We enjoyed dinner together, complete with Barry's homemade wine, stories, and laughter.
Since this is Holy Week, Mike and I attended services today at noon. Three pastors conducted the service and in groups of 12 we gathered around a table to celebrate Holy Communion. The table was set with bread and wine and place cards... I was uncomfortable in the spot reserved for Judas. This was a unique and very meaningful way to commemorate The Last Supper.
(This is actually the altar at the church in Palm Springs - I like the imagery)
After church we headed up to the B's house for an afternoon of conversation and a wonderful dinner of Shepard's Pie - Good Job, Bonnie! It was good to see our friends and it was fun to see their yard in spring - we are usually fall visitors. We will see them again in June in Minnesota where they have promised to come down for "Lutheran Hour" at least once.
Tomorrow, we are headed east. Those New Mexico lakes need to be checked out and it seems like a fun thing to do before heading north.
(I couldn't sleep so am typing this at 12:30 - you should hear the coyotes outside! I do love this area!)
