We're In Minnesota!

When I wrote last, we were in Springfield, MO waiting for a part. We had a nice "campground" at Reliable RV and the fuel pump came in on time, was installed and we hit the road for Minnesota...

You guessed it, the story of the engine was not over. About 250 miles north, the light came on again. Mike called back to Reliable --- but hey, what could they do... So, Mike decided we would let it cool off for 10-15 minutes and drive it another 100 miles or so.
(Only in Iowa would you find a casino that advertises this way.)
And then drive another 100, cool it down and so on - we did and we arrived safely in MN on Thursday.

While we were nursing the old crate north, I got a call and found out mom was in the hospital. She got out the day we got to MN, but was back in a couple of days later. Trying to find the right combination of drugs and diet is never easy and is harder as you get older. She is now home and anxiously waiting for the garden to get planted.

We decided a while back that we would spend most of the summer in southern MN at Bob and Corky's place. If you look at the state above, we are located below the "m" and right from the "u". We spent a month here last summer and found it very relaxing. AND it is close to moms and the newest great grandbaby. Wanna see a picture?

We may be biased, but I think she gets more beautiful every day! Look at those long lashes...

OK, back to the motorhome. Mike was aware of a dealer in Faribault that worked on Workhorse so he called and made an appt. to bring it in on Monday. We did and we ended up spending the next 5 days in their parking lot... One thing nice about MN, you are never far from water. This was the scene across the street from "our" parking lot. It worked out alright as ABC Bus is in the same town where mom was hospitalized and only 14 miles from her home in Kenyon. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time with mom and Mike spent a lot of time with the motorhome (and he did a little fishing). During the week, we also managed to get in a Dr. appt. and visit with "McDonald's" friends from North Branch. It now has new "head pipes"; sounds like something from the '60's to me but it is really part of the exhaust system. Seems the pipes had hairline cracks near the oxygen sensor and that could have been what set the whole thing off in the first place... hopefully it is now FIXED FOR GOOD!

So, on Friday we took it back to the lake and settled into our summer home. This is the view from the window of the MH - can't beat the surroundings!

Today, we went to the nursing home in St. Peter and celebrated Mike's mom's 88th birthday. This is Marion with her sister.
And this is Mike with his mom and his sons Terry and Brian and their wives, Janet and Tammy.
It is nice to be around family. In the coming weeks, we will celebrate a baptism and a graduation and I know there will be lots of quiet family times inbetween...

There is just something about being "home" that allows the real me to come out...

Till next time...
