The Sheep of Canyon Lake
"I think I see some sheep up there." says Barry. Immediately, my camera is up and I spot one and what looks like just a head of another.
"Look to the right." someone says. And Oh My Gosh... we hit the mother load of sheep.
The more we look, the more we see. At least 20 sheep were basking in the sun near the top of a south facing mountain.
We watched as they jumped the ravines.
We tried to figure out who was in charge and what each of them were doing.
We watched as the "lookout" made his way to the top of the mountain and seemed to be checking out something on the other side.
We watched as the line formed and they slowly made their way to the top.
And then we watched the silhouettes as they appeared against the blue sky.
This one seemed to be the designated one to bring up the rear - he waited until all others were safely on their way.
They kept very close tabs on one another.
And when they all got to the top, they glanced back in our direction, as if to say so long.
What a delight to watch there agile creatures as they moved about on the mountainside.
