Congratulations Chris and Sara

Saturday was not a perfect Minnesota fall day, but it was a good day for our family. We gained a new member when our oldest grandson, Christopher, married Sara. I will let pictures tell the story of the day.

Guests arrived with umbrellas in hand; prepared to celebrate... no matter what the weather.

Amariah was a flower girl and she truly enjoyed the entire event beginning with the admiration of Grandpa and Great Grandpa.

Chris welcomed his Great Aunt Delores and Great Uncle Elmer ... Next weekend, we will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Here he shows off his cufflinks that had once belonged to his Great Grandpa Wil, Mike's dad.
The ring bearer came prepared and ready...

to pull the wagon that carried the beautiful flower girls.

The rains stopped as the wedding began and the umbrellas were put away,

only the eyes of the bride and groom and the parents (and some of the rest of us) remained moist.

And then Chris and Sara, Husband and Wife, were announced to the group of friends and family who had gathered at Sibley Park.

And then the pictures began. This is the family of Mike's oldest son, Terry.

Grandma, Mom and Babe all looked gorgeous!

There were guests to greet. Janet's mom, Elaine, (Chris' Grandma) is chatting with Mike and the Bride and Groom.

Mike poses with Grandson Chris and Granddaughter Kaci.

Earlier this year, Janet and Terry celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary - They don't look old enough, do they?!

At the reception, Amariah learned to play Ring Around The Rosie...
but the "all fall down" part just didn't seem to make sense.
Their were more pictures,

and the ceremonial first dance.

There was good food, a chance for Mike to visit with family he had not seen for many years, a chance for me to meet yet another branch of the family, a time for both of us to talk with extended family ... and then it was time to head for home. It was a good day.

Congratulations Chris and Sara!
